bullet Topic: Affirm FiberGuard Relaxer
    Posted: 16 May 2004 at 10:02pm
Hello! Everyone

Glad to back on the forum. I have been away from sometime. Has anyone heard or used Affirm FiberGuard Relaxer? My hairdresser only has Affirm FiberGuard Relaxer in her salon. I use Optimum and feel very uncomfortable changing to another relaxer. I would like to know what the outcomes or effects of using the relaxer.

Thanks for replying.

Well, I finally made up my mind and went back to relaxing my hair. Costing me 112.00 to relax it!! Too expensive. I want to bawl :(

Fibergaurd is suppose to be a milder relaxer. I would ditch Optimum in a heart beat for Fiberguard.  Affirm has a better reputation.  Fiberguard comes in different strengths so if you don't use mild, it's like a regular Affirm product. But Optimum is very harsh.

I use Fiberguard and I LOVE IT! It retains the tensile strength and elasticity of the hair, and it is excellent for color treated hair. My hairdresser uses Affirm and Fiberguard on my hair, depending on whether I have used color recently or not. Both relaxers work great. I used to use optimum before I switched to a hairdresser who used Affirm. That was 7 years ago, and I will not use any other relaxers. I urge you to try Affirm or Fiberguard. Check out their web site: www.avlon.com.

That being said, you should find out what works for you.
